Speakers and topics

St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, the Rev. Scott Bellows will preach at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services this Sunday. The parish choir will perform at the later service. A luncheon will follow.

Christian education is at 9 a.m.




St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Rev. David Kaplan will be preaching this Sunday at the 8 a.m. chapel and 10:30 a.m. services on the topic, Sometimes It Takes A While.

Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:15 a.m.




St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. William Kercheval will be guest speaker at 9:30 a.m. this Sunday on the topic, The Buck Stops Here. Lay Leader Mark DiLandro will serve as liturgist.

Unity meets in Shepherdstown's historic train station between German and High streets.




Zion United Church of Christ, the Rev. Robert Royal will speak at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic will be An Upbeat Word for a Downbeat World.

Calvary Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Doug Courter's topic at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday is Part 2 of Sharing Your Faith - It's Really Not That Hard.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. There are no evening services.

Bible study is Tuesday at 10 a.m. and youth activities are Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Church of the Holy Trinity, Halfway, the Rev. Tim Leighton will lead the 10:45 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, We're All Fishermen and Women. Children's church meets during the service. Fellowship and light refreshments follow the service.

Childcare will be available for walking toddlers; however there will be no children's classes.

The children's program is also at 9:30 a.m. Learning centers are at 11 a.m.

Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, the Rev. Tim Ritchey Martin will speak on the topic, Follow Me, at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday. Church leaders will be consecrated.
