Police seek man who robbed deliveryman

A Golden Crown Restaurant employee was robbed at knifepoint Wednesday night as the employee was making a food delivery in the first block of Richmond Street, Hagerstown Police Department Sgt. Paul Kifer said.

About 9 p.m., the employee, making a delivery to an apartment at 20 Richmond St., was approached from behind by a man who showed him a knife and demanded money, according to a written release from Sgt. Fred Wolford.

The robber is described as a black man who was wearing dark clothing, according to the release. He was 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed about 170 pounds, according to the release.

The robber ran away after he took the delivery person's money and, despite a police search of the area, could not be found, according to the release.

The restaurant employee was not injured, police said.
