Man faces multiple drug charges

Police charged a man with several drug offenses Thursday night in Hagerstown.

Jacob W. Mason, 26, of 413 McDowell Ave. in Hagerstown, was charged with drug possession, drug possession with intent to distribute, drug distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia, Washington County District Court documents state.

Hagerstown Police said a police informant purchased crack cocaine from Mason inside Wal-Mart, at 17850 Garland Groh Blvd. in Hagerstown, documents state.

Police arrested Mason as he was walking outside with the police informant. Officers allegedly found crack cocaine in the pocket of Mason's pants.

Mason was being held at the Washington County Detention Center Tuesday night on $300,000 bail, a spokeswoman there said. Mason was convicted of drug charges in 1999 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, according to published reports.
