RV park planned

January 12, 2006|by ANDREW SCHOTZ

WILLIAMSPORT - The Williamsport Town Council on Monday heard about a proposal to open a recreational vehicle park off Conococheague Street, near Conococheague Creek.

Property owner Kevin Potts is considering a park with about 133 sites for RVs, said Greg Barnes of Fox & Associates, a surveying, planning and engineering firm in Hagerstown.

No camper would be parked there for more than two weeks, Barnes said. He said each site would have water service but not sewage service.

Potts said he also is proposing that storage units be installed near the RV park.

Town Attorney Edward Kuczynski said neither an RV park nor storage units is a principal permitted use for the land, but the owner could apply to the zoning board for a special exception.
