Town plans to sell car

January 11, 2006|by ANDREW SCHOTZ

WILLIAMSPORT - The Town of Williamsport plans to sell a 20-year-old car that is wearing out.

Mayor James G. McCleaf II said the car, which he thinks is a 1986 Chevrolet Caprice, needs new brakes and tires. The windshield is cracked and the odometer doesn't work correctly.

The town will sell the car, as is, to whomever submits the highest of the sealed bids it receives, he said.

"It really is bad and we really need to get rid of it," he said.
