Where have all the cowboys gone?

If your celluloid heroes were created by John Wayne, Henry Fonda, John Ford, Howard Hawks and Sam Peckinpah, you might have your own opinion. Those actors and filmmakers are long gone, and Clint Eastwood hasn't saddled a horse since 1992's "Unforgiven." The men responsible for acclaimed Hollywood Westerns aren't making them anymore, and no one has come along to start making them now.

Is there still an audience for the Western genre? Should there be?
