MARLOWE, W.Va. - Del. John Overington will host four town meetings this month to gather public input before the upcoming West Virginia legislative session.

The meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Marlowe Ruritan Building on Broad Lane near Marlowe Elementary School.

  • Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Scrabble Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church on Scrabble Road near the Berkeley-Jefferson County line.

  • Saturday, Jan. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Bedington (W.Va.) Ruritan Building on U.S. 11 south of Bedington Crossroads.

  • Saturday, Jan. 14, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Faith Christian Academy, 138 Greensburg Road.

"Over the years, these meetings across the district have provided an excellent way for me to keep in touch with the people in the Eastern Panhandle and are a very helpful link in the two-way communication that is important for government to work," said Overington, R-Berkeley.

The 60-day legislative session begins Jan. 11 and runs through March 11.

Overington said issues he is seeking input on include tax relief, eliminating the food tax, homestead exemption, eminent domain and issues related to growth in Berkeley County.
