Attempted murder charge filed in W.Va.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - A Jefferson County, W.Va., woman was charged with attempted murder, robbery and other offenses in connection with a Christmas Day incident at the Golden Horseshoe Club, police said.

Danielle Renee Thomas-James, 28, was charged with attempted murder, three counts of robbery, three counts of assault during the commission of a felony and one count of grant larceny, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department said Sunday in a written release.

Thomas-James allegedly attacked and robbed three people at gunpoint outside the club, police said. One of the victims was shot and suffered cuts and abrasions, police said.

Thomas-James and another person allegedly stole the victims' vehicle. When police began to chase the assailants, the two fled on foot, police said.
