Duane and Dovona Unger of Hancock announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Amber Lee Ann Unger, to Thomas Allan Hixon, son of Allan Hixon Jr. of Buck Valley, Pa., and Deborah Ebersole of Big Cove Tannery, Pa. He is the grandson of Allan Sr. and Julia Hixon of Buck Valley, Larry Rutherford and the late Mildred Rutherford. Ms. Unger is the daughter of Kevin D. and Tina Unger of Perryville, Mo., and the late Billie Jo Bolyard Unger. She also is the granddaughter of Harry and Debra Bolyard of Chillicothe, Ohio and Kathleen McCusker Hovatter of Hancock.

Ms. Unger is a 2003 graduate of Hancock High School and received an associate's degree in business administration from Hagerstown Business College this year. She is employed with Citizens National Bank in Hancock.

Mr. Hixon is a 1998 graduate of Southern Fulton High School. He is employed with H.B. Mellott in Warfordsburg.

A 2006 wedding is planned.



Rosanna Baer and Derek Book, both of Chambersburg, Pa., announce their engagement.

Ms. Baer is the daughter of Lewis and LuAnn Baer of Chambersburg. She is the granddaughter of Nathan and Esther Strite of Boonsboro and Mildred Reynolds of Waynesboro, Pa. She is a 1996 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, and received a degree in elementary education from Shippensburg University in 2000. She is completing a master's degree in school counseling at Shippensburg University. She was formerly a language arts teacher at Northern Middle School.

Mr. Book is the son of George and Nancy Book of Chambersburg. He is a 1998 graduate of James Buchanan High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years. He is employed with Glen L. Myers Inc.

An Aug. 5, 2006, wedding is planned.


The parents of Lindsay Richelle Forrest and Christopher Scott Rhoderick announce the engagement of their children.

Ms. Forrest is the daughter of David and Sharon Forrest of Boonsboro. She is a 2003 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She graduated from Hagerstown Community College this year and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting at University of Maryland University College. She is employed with Thomas C. Ours, CPA, P.L.L.C., in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Mr. Rhoderick is the son of Phil Rhoderick and Joan Geisbert. He is a 2000 graduate of Boonsboro High School, attended Shepherd University, and graduated from Hagers-town Community College this year. He is majoring in accounting at University of Maryland University College.

A May 2008 wedding is planned.


Steve and Andrea Donius of Smithsburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Shanna Michelle Donius, to Brandon Leigh Warrenfeltz, son of Jeff and Brenda Warrenfeltz of Clear Spring.

Ms. Donius is a 2002 graduate of Smithsburg High School and received an associate's degree in psychology from Hagerstown Community College. She is employed as a customer service representative with Abicor Binzel in Frederick, Md.

Mr. Warrenfeltz is a 2000 graduate of Clear Spring High School and received an associate of science degree in mechanical engineering technology from Hagerstown Community College. He is employed as a lines engineering designer with Allegheny Power in Frederick.

An April 8, 2006, wedding is planned.


Beth Marie Woodworth and Matthew Brian Carr announce their engagement.

Miss Woodworth is the daughter of George and Brenda Woodworth of Middletown, Md. She is a 2000 graduate of Middletown High School and received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Hood College in Frederick, Md., in 2004. She is pursuing a doctorate of pharmacy degree at Shenandoah University, Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy in Winchester, Va.

Mr. Carr is the son of Colleen A. Carr and is the grandson of James L. Faris of Warfordsburg, Pa. He is a 1995 graduate of Southern Fulton High School. He is employed by the City of Hagerstown in the Water Department.

A late spring wedding is planned.


Laurie Herr and Tony Cianelli of West Virginia and Robert and Kimberly Herr of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Nicole Herr, to Joseph David Gossard, son of Walter and Pamela Gossard of Hagerstown.

Miss Herr is a 1999 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, a 2003 graduate of James Madison University and a 2005 graduate of University of Maryland School of Nursing. She is employed with Johns Hopkins Hospital in pediatric emergency.

Mr. Gossard is a 1997 graduate of North Hagers-town High School and a 2001 graduate of York College. He is employed as a retail store manager with Under Armour.

The Honorable and Mrs. John R. Atwood of Newcastle, Maine, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Margaret Atwood, to Christopher Lesky, son of Bernard and Marguerite Lesky of Hagerstown. Ms. Atwood also is the daughter of the late Patricia S. Atwood.
