Services at area houses of worship

Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, Pa., on Christmas Day, the regular coffee hour will be followed at 10:45 a.m. by a special worship service. There will be no Sunday school.




Paramount Baptist Church, Pastor Larry Rickard will bring a message entitled, A Man Forgotten, at the 11 a.m. worship service on Christmas Day.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.




Rickard is conducting a study entitled How Now Shall We Live? at the 6:50 p.m. service on Wednesdays during the prayers and Bible study. Youth activities begin at 6:30 p.m. and children's activities begin at 6:50 p.m.




Community Mennonite Church, U.S. 40 east of Hagerstown, Pastor Paul Clemmer will bring the message, God's Unstoppable Purpose Realized through the Coming of Jesus, at the 9 a.m. service on Christmas Day.

Haven Lutheran Church, a Christmas Day communion service begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Beverly Lange will preach on the gospel text John 1:1-14.




Salem United Methodist Church, Keedysville, a joint service on Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m. will feature Pastors Delancy Catlett and Malcolm Stranathan. The service is come as you are including children in their pajamas.




St. Augustine Catholic Church, 32 E. Potomac St., Williamsport, Christmas Day Mass will be at 8:30 a.m.




St. James Catholic Church, 127 N. Main St., Boonsboro, Christmas Day Mass will be at 11 a.m.




St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, Christmas Day Masses are at 8 and 10 a.m.




St. Michael Catholic Church, Clear Spring, Christmas Day Mass is at 10:30 a.m.




Salem Reformed Church, Pastor Steve Wagoner will be speaking on The Magnificat at the combined Sunday school, worship service at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day. J.D. Repp will serve as liturgist. Mary Lou Hollingsworth will bring a children's message.

Highland View Seventh-day Adventist Church, Academy Lane, Hagerstown, at the 11 a.m. service today, the Time of Trouble band will be performing. The topic is Rediscover Christmas. Bible studies begin at 9:45 a.m.




Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsport, Christmas Day worship begins at 10:30 a.m.

On Friday, Dec. 30, a holiday open house will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with refreshments and tours of Zion's new facilities.




Salem Lutheran Church, 17626 Bakersville Road, Fairplay, Pastor John Torrence will preach this Sunday at the 11:15 a.m. Christmas Day service. The topic is The Three Ls.

Sunday school is at 10 a.m.




New Life Community Church, 4102 Tabler Station Road, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Christmas Day service begins at 11 a.m.




New Life Christian Ministries, Clear Spring, Pastor Ken Harris will speak at the 10 a.m. service on Christmas Day on the topic, Birth of a New Creation.




Bethel Assembly of God, Pastor Terry Broadwater will continue the message series, Extreme Makeover Home Edition Part 10: Here's the Keys, on Christmas Day at the 10:30 a.m. contemporary service.

There are no LIFE groups or LIFE Institute (Sunday school) this week or a 9 a.m. service.




Covenant Presbyterian Church, Pastor Helen R. Woodward's homily on Christmas Day at 9 a.m. will be Be People of Light.

There will be no church school.




Potomac Charge, United Methodist churches of Big Pool, Christmas Day will be celebrated at Mount Carmel at 9:30 a.m.




Otterbein United Methodist Church, 549 N. Queen St., Martinsburg, W.Va., the 10:50 a.m. service on Christmas Day will feature the lighting of the Advent wreath, new members and a hymn sing.

Church school for all ages is at 9:45 a.m.




First Baptist Church, Pastor Thom Smith will bring the Christmas message at the 11 a.m. service on Christmas Day.




Concordia Lutheran Church, on Christmas Day, Pastor James O. Murr will lead the 10 a.m. communion service on the topic, Population Grows By One.
