Services at area houses of worship

Beaver Creek/Keedysville Lutheran parish, the parish Christmas Day service will be held at St. Peter's on North Main Street in Keedysville. Pastor Eleanor Doub will speak on the topic, Down to Earth.

A half hour musical prelude will precede the 10 a.m. worship featuring an instrumental ensemble comprised of Lyndell Clipp, Robyn Ford, Ronnie Hambleton Jr. and organist Fred Gross.

St. Peter's adult choir will present several anthems and lead congregational carols.




St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, the Rev. Mark Sandell will be preaching at 10 a.m. this Christmas Sunday. There will be a blessing of the toys.

There is no Sunday school.

Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Pastor Dan Johnson will speak at the 10:35 a.m. service Christmas Day on the topic, The Beginning of Salvation. Paul Heavner will be worship leader. There will be no Sunday school.

The Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown, the 9:30 a.m. service this Christmas Day will feature healing and wholeness toward the end of the service.

Sunday school begins at 11 a.m.

Christ Lutheran Church, there will be on service at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Downsville Church of the Brethren, this Sunday at 10:35 a.m., Pastor Wilkie Nunn will speak on the topic, Regifting.




St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Leitersburg, Pastor Terry Culler will be speaking during the 10:30 a.m. Christmas Day service on the topic, Jesus and Stephen.

There will be no Sunday school.




St. James Brethren Church, the Rev. Brian Moore will speak at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services this Sunday. The topic is How Humiliating! Phyllis Barr and Tim McMillan are worship leaders. The adult and children's choirs will sing.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.




Park Road Bible Church, Pastor Ronald Key will speak at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day. The topic will be Come, Your Hearts and Voices Raising.

There will be no Sunday school or Sunday evening worship.

Wednesday prayer service is at 7 p.m.




St. John's Lutheran Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Christmas Day combined service with communion will begin at 10 a.m. There will be no Sunday school. The sermon topic will be, Running on Empty.




Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, at the 10 a.m. service on Christmas Day, the birth of Jesus will be celebrated with readings, carols and hymns.

There will be no Sunday school.




Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Dean Pryor will speak at the 11 a.m. worship service on Christmas Day. The topic is For Unto Us A Child is Born.

There will be no Sunday school and no Wednesday night ministries.




Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Quentin Fleming will preach at the 10 a.m. communion this Christmas Day on the topic, God Among Us.

Clair Johannsen, parish musician, will perform Christmas carols on the organ. The historic Degan Tower chimes will play as parishioners gather.




Hilltop Christian Fellowship, 9508 National Pike, Big Pool, Jay Cooper will be the guest speaker at the 9:45 a.m. service on Christmas Day. There will be no Sunday school or Bible study.




Hope Community Church, meets at the Venice Inn on Dual Highway in Hagerstown, Pastor Peter Guadalupe will be speaking at the 10 a.m. service on Christmas Day on the topic, What Does God Want for Christmas?

Children's ministry is during the Sunday morning service.

Wednesday night men's and women's Bible studies and youth meeting at 7 p.m.




Church of Christ at Hagerstown, Evangelist Thomas Huff will bring the message, Such a Strange Gift, at the 10 a.m. service this Sunday. There will be no other classes this week.

North Side Mennonite Church, there will be a special 10:30 a.m. program on Christmas Day.

There will be no Sunday school, no Sunday evening or Wednesday activities this week.




John Wesley United Methodist Church, the Rev. Pat Ricker will be preaching at the 10:30 a.m. service on Christmas Day. The topic is The Word Became Fresh.

There will be no Sunday school.




Longmeadow Church of the Brethren, Interim Pastor Glenn Young will be preaching this Sunday at the 10 a.m. service on the topic, The Word Became Flesh. There will be no Sunday school.




Trinity Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, Pastor Gerry Johnson will lead a service of scripture and carols this Sunday at 10 a.m.




Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, Pastor Ed Poling will bring the message, God Gets Local, during the 10:30 a.m. service Christmas Day.




Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, Greencastle, Pa., Clarence Strite will be speaking this Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m. on the topic, God's Christmas Greeting.




St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagers-town, on Christmas Day, there will be a 9 a.m. communion service only.

Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, Pastor Bill Wyand will be speaking at the 10:30 a.m. combined service on Christmas Day with the topic, What Makes a Gift Special?
