Charges dropped against woman accused of malicious burning

Charges were dismissed Tuesday against a Hagerstown woman who was accused of maliciously setting fire to a comforter, according to Washington County District Court documents.

Kelli Lynn Long, 22, was charged in September with second-degree malicious burning, attempting to burn property and reckless endangerment, documents state.

Each of the charges was dismissed Tuesday.

Long was accused of placing a comforter on a stove burner and turning the burner on in September, documents state. The comforter caught fire and caused about $1,000 in damage, documents state.
