New view

December 22, 2005|by ANDREW SCHOTZ

The view in front of the Hager House is being opened up and improved, a city official said Wednesday.

Junior Mason, parks superintendent for the city, said the long-range project started this past spring.

The city put in about 300 feet of corrugated pipe then and improved the road and parking lot, he said.

This week, the work is continuing. Mason said 11 "overgrown, half-dead" pine trees in front of the Hager House are being removed.

Next spring, the city will landscape the area, putting in smaller trees and ground cover, he said.
