City OKs expenditures

December 21, 2005|by ANDREW SCHOTZ

As part of what's known as a "consent agenda," the Hagerstown City Council on Tuesday approved a series of expenditures at once, including:

- $25,070 for two emergency power transfer switches for the Water and Sewer Department.

- $188,317 for 25 air packs and 52 air cylinders and upgrade kits for the Hagerstown Fire Department. Fire Chief Gary Hawbaker has said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is covering 90 percent of the cost and the city is paying 10 percent.

- $128,150 for Milton Stamper Builders of Hagerstown, the only bidder, to rehabilitate each side of 441-443 N. Jonathan St.

- $20,135 to replace Hagerstown Police Department computers.
