Two Heritage grads reach nationals

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - Two 2005 Heritage Academy graduates, Whitney Schlimgen and Heather Stamper, were members of the Baptist Bible College volleyball team that won the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II regional volleyball tournament and participated in the NCCAA national championships in Lincoln, Ill.

Schlimgen, daughter of Jim and Denise Schlimgen of Smithsburg, had five kills, two aces and 15 digs as BBC swept Lancaster Bible College and Philadelphia Bible College to win the regional tournament. Stamper, daughter of Milton and Karen Stamper of Hagerstown, had four kills, one ace, 16 digs and two blocks in the regionals.

Baptist Bible finished second in the national tournament, played Nov. 10-12.

The team also won the NCAA North East Athletic Conference finals at Villa Julie College in Stevenson, Md., defeating Philadelphia Biblical University and Keuka College.
