'First Snow of Winter'

Festival of Lights



Luminarias will light Rest Haven Cemetery. Bagpiper Richard Conrad will walk through the cemetery, performing Christmas hymns, as people light luminarias. Drivers are asked to enter at the south gate, by the pond, and exit through the north gate. The event will start today at 3 p.m. with a performance by St. James Brass Quintet in the funeral home chapel. Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Free.

Music of the season



The Haven Lutheran Church Choir and the Appalachian Wind Quintet will perform music of the season. Today, 5 p.m. Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown. Light refreshments will be served afterward.

MSO



The Maryland Symphony Orchestra will present two concerts. "Glorious Holiday Spirits" will feature Vivaldi's "Gloria," as well as holiday favorites today at 7 p.m. "Santa Symphony," a one-hour concert of holiday favorites designed with children in mind, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. The Maryland Theatre, 21 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Tickets for either performance cost $19 for adults and $11 for ages 12 and younger and may be purchased at the MSO office, 13 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown; or by calling 301-797-4000. Ticket holders are invited to "Cookies with Santa," a preconcert event Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at One Two Kangaroo, 4 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Tickets for "Cookies with Santa" cost $5. Call 301-797-4000 for reservations. If inclement weather causes a cancellation, the concert snow date is Monday at 8 p.m.

Kathy Mattea

Open house



Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club will hold open houses. Raffles will be held. Displays include G-scale, O-scale, HO-scale and N-scale layouts. Holiday performance



Goose Route Arts Collaborative Inc. will hold its third annual holiday show with performers of all ages sharing dance, poetry and music.
