Freedom from Smoking classes offered at hospitals

CHAMBERSBURG, PA - Staying Tobacco Free is offering free Freedom From Smoking cessation classes every Wednesday, beginning Jan. 4, in classroom one at the Chambersburg Hospital from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The group also is offering the classes every Monday, beginning Jan. 9 and continuing through Feb. 20, in the main conference room at the Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Professionally trained instructors will emphasize long-term "Freedom From Smoking." The classes also will cover topics that include, skills for good stress management, weight control, assertive communication and exercise. The instructors will teach a step-by-step method for changing behavior and quitting smoking.

Freedom From Smoking is a stop-smoking program funded in part under a contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
