School Board to hold closed meeting today



The Washington County Board of Education will hold a closed meeting today beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 11, according to a press release. The meeting will be in the Central Office conference room. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss personnel matters and advice of legal counsel, according to the press release.




Hagerstown Jazz Ensemble to perform



The public is invited to a free concert by the Hagerstown Community College Jazz Ensemble on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at Kepler Theater on the college campus at 11400 Robinwood Drive.

Santa Claus to visit First Hose Co.



Santa Claus will be making an appearance at First Hose Co., 33 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown, on Friday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Children will be treated to coloring books and candy canes in addition to sitting on Santa's lap.

This is the second year for the event, which is sponsored by the fire company membership.
