Band seeks new members



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Cumberland Valley School of Music is accepting new members who are interested in performing in a concert on Sunday, Jan. 29. Auditions for 'Jake's Women'



Potomac Playmakers will hold auditions at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Women's Club Auditorium, 31 S. Prospect St., Hag-erstown for "Jake's Women," by Neil Simon. Roles are available for one male and six females of various ages, as well as one girl, around age 12. Requirements include reading from the script. The production runs Feb. 10 to 12 and 16 to 18. Auditions for French farce



BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - The Blue Ridge Theatre Guild will hold open auditions for the French farce "Don't Dress for Dinner" by Mark Camoletti.

Cold readings will take place at 2 p.m. today and 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, and Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Carroll Valley Resort Hotel on Sanders Road, Carroll Valley, Pa.

Parts are available for three men and three women, ages 20 to 50. Production dates are March 10 to 12, 18 and 19, and 25 and 26.

Local filmmakers invited



Western Maryland Public Libraries, Washington County Free Library and Hagerstown Community College invite local amateur filmmakers to submit short movies for the second annual U Create Film Festival, to be held in February. Entries are welcome from people of all ages; entries must be in DVD format, may be no more than 10 minutes in length, and may cover any genre. Deadline for applications is Thursday, Dec. 15.
