December 06, 2005|by JULIE E. GREENE

Members of Washington County Homemakers' nine clubs helped get the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum into holiday garb this past week.

The museum, seven miles south of Hagerstown at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center, is having a Christmas open house from 1 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11.

Decorating the museum's various exhibits were members of the homemakers clubs from Beaver Creek, Boonsboro, Brightwood, Cavetown, Clear Spring, Dry Run, Funkstown, Green Acres (Hagerstown) and Leitersburg.

Santa will be at the open house, which is sponsored by Friends of the Rural Heritage Museum.

The event also will feature a display of old-time toys and a children's workshop area where youngsters can make a decoration and take it home.
