Air Force Airman Heather M. Hammond, daughter of Debra Spencer Collins and Daniel Hammond, both of Chambersburg, Pa., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Hammond is a 2005 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School.




Army Master Sgt. Darryl L. Brenzel is a member of the U.S. Army Field Band, the Army's official touring musical organization, headquartered at Fort George G. Meade, Md.

Brenzel, a senior soloist with 23 years of military service, is the son of Glenn and Marjorie Brenzel of Mocksville, N.C.

His wife, Jennifer, is the daughter of George and Paula Hunter of Frederick, Md.

The sergeant is a 1979 graduate of Germantown (Md.) Central High School.




Air Force Airman David A. Lison, son of Lisa Hackett of Charles Town, W.Va., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Lison is a 2005 graduate of Jefferson High School in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.




Air Force Airman Anna R. Olvich, daughter of Elizabeth and Kris Olvich of Frederick, Md., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Olvich is a 2004 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick.




Navy Seaman Recruit Jacob C. Smith, a 2005 graduate of Linganore High School in Frederick, Md., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.




Navy Seaman Recruit Kenneth G. Kirby, a 2004 graduate of Brunswick (Md.) High School, and his shipmates returned to sea after a two-month-long inport period while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.

Sailors worked with civilian contractors to complete 85 contractor jobs, 246 ship repair jobs and more than 700 ship's force jobs to ensure the ship was ready to get under way.

Kirby joined the Navy in June 2004.




Army Pvt. Randall J. Daley, son of Robert Daley of Martinsburg, W.Va., and grandson of Donald Smith of Woodstown, N.J., graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky.




Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Chevy L. Kensbock, daughter of Bobbi Dearstine of Frederick, Md., conducted strikes on a known Improvised Explosive Device (IED) production facility northeast of Baghdad during a scheduled deployment while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, homeported in Norfolk, Va.

Since their arrival, Roosevelt-based aircraft have provided close air support to coalition troops in Al Hillah, Al Mansuriyah, Baquba, Basrah, Kirkuk, Madain, Mosul and Tall Afar. They will continue to escort convoys, patrol oil pipelines and protect new construction.

Kensbock, who joined the Navy in October 2000, is a 1998 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick.




Navy Fireman Katelin F. Mays, granddaughter of Judy W. Mays of Martinsburg, W.Va., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Mays is a 2005 graduate of Pflugerville (Texas) High School.




Navy Seaman Kaylan T. Morgan, son of Tina K. Morgan of Middletown, Md., and Clayton E. Morgan of Frederick, Md., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Morgan is a 2005 graduate of Middletown High School.
