Food pantry/clothes closet open



Grace food pantry/clothes closet will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 3, at Grace United Methodist Church, corner of Church and Winter streets, Hagerstown.

The food pantry and clothes closet is open the first Saturday of every month to assist families in the area with food and clothing items. Each family is allowed to choose one grocery bag of food and clothing items for adults and children as needed.




Cookie Sale at St. Andrew's



St. Andrew's United Methodist Church will hold a cookie sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown. In addition to cookies, soups and sandwiches also will be sold. Carryout only.




Champagne tea benefits CASA in West Virginia



SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - A Christmas champagne tea will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Bavarian Inn. Proceeds will benefit CASA of the Eastern Panhandle Inc.

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, is a program designed to help children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse and neglect.

Tickets cost $25 and must be purchased in advance by calling the CASA office at 1-304-263-5100, the Bavarian Inn at 1-304-876-2551 or She-Town Diva's at 1-304-876-3482.
