Area Roundup - Hawks earn two victories

GERMANTOWN, Md. - Tommy Cox scored 22 points and had five assists Wednesday to lead Hagerstown Community College to a 104-94 victory over Germantown (1-4) in a Maryland JuCo game.

Rayquan Miles had 16 points and nine rebounds and Ricardo Lovelace had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Hawks (2-6, 1-1).

Shepherd 66, West Chester 63

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Yves Moliva scored 21 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to help Shepherd University (3-2) hand West Chester (4-1) its first loss.


HCC 73, Chesapeake 65

Cristi Bartlett had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead HCC over Chesapeake (3-3, 0-2) in a Maryland JuCo conference game.


Requita Davis dished out seven assists and Jamie Robinson scored all of her 14 points in the second half for the Hawks (5-1, 2-0).


McCoy signs with Shepherd

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Emily McCoy, a Berkeley Springs senior, signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for the Shepherd Rams next year.

As a junior, McCoy was a Herald-Mail All-Area second-team selection. McCoy holds Berkeley Spring records for career kills, blocks, digs and aces.


Five Rams get regional honors

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Five members of the Shepherd University football team were named to the 2005 Daktronics Division II Football All-Northeast Region Team.

Junior free safety Dan Peters and senior offensive lineman Jimmy Violand were first-team selections. Sophomore running back Dervon Wallace, junior kicker Ricky Schmitt and senior cornerback Dustin Dudinski were second-team selections.
