Bridge club posts results

Seventeen pairs competed Wednesday, Nov. 23, during an International Fund Game of the Hagerstown Bridge Club.

In the overalls, Jim Eaton and Jerry Wixson finished first in Flight A with a 62.80-percent game. Rich Evans and Lois Taylor were second in Flight A, and Karen Copp and Maggie Hays were third in Flight A and first in both Flight B and C. Debbie Kiser and Rob Robey came in fourth in Flight A and second in Flights B and C; and Margaret Peirce and Chuck Lesher were fifth in Flight A. Marie Nicely and Marie Sullivan placed third in the B and C strata; and Gary Wold and Claudia Reppert were fourth in B.

In section awards, Emma Eaton and Carl Herrick came in fourth in the North/South direction in Flight A, and in the East/West direction, there was a three-way tie for third place in Flight A by Anne Carden and Fred Wager; Marie Nicely and Marie Sullivan; and Frank Carden and Tom Janus. Ken Perschau and Ken Zimmerman finished second in Flight C in the East/West direction.

The Hagerstown Bridge Club meets Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. at the South End Fire Station in Hagerstown.

Six pairs competed Friday, Nov. 25, at the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club. Jack and Pat Mesner finished in first place in both Flight A and B with a 64-percent game. Del and Frank Carden came in second in Flight A with a 53-percent game.

In the annual masterpoint race as of the end of November, Dick and Lois Taylor are tied for first place with 42.15 points. Frank Carden is in third place with 22.87, and Anne Carden is fourth with 20.37. Bill and Madeline Davis are tied for fifth place with 19.01 points, and Margaret Peirce is in seventh place with 18.22. Nancy Burger is eighth with 17.91, and Barbara Couch is in ninth place with 14.66. Elaine Rowe is tenth with 14.16.

The Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club meets Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown. All bridge players are welcome. For more information, call 301-797-4627.
