Santa and more at museum Dec. 10-11

Washington County's Rural Heritage Museum will be holding a Christmas Open House Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The museum is in the Washing County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike (Md. 65). The museum is about 7 miles south of Hagerstown.

Sponsored by The Friends of the Rural Heritage Museum, the open house will feature:

  • A display of antique toys

  • A children's workshop area, where youths can make a decoration using real cranberries and popcorn, and then take it home

  • Santa Claus, who will be available for picture-taking in an authentic sleigh

  • Special holiday decorations by Washington County Homemakers Clubs

  • A gift shop with newly arrived holiday treasures

  • Free admission.

There will be homemade cookies, punch and wassail.
