Doyle to lead budget committee

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia Del. John Doyle has been named chairperson of a budget committee for a national organization that assists lawmakers in the way they do their jobs.

Doyle, D-Jefferson, has been named chairperson of the budgets and revenue committee for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Doyle was named to the post by Illinois state Sen. Steve Rauschenberger, a Republican and president of the national organization.

Doyle will be heading up the committee at the National Conference of State Legislatures fall forum Dec. 7 to 9 in Chicago, according to a press release.

Doyle has been vice chairman of the budgets and revenue committee for the National Conference of State Legislatures the last two years. He has been vice chairman of the West Virginia House of Delegates finance committee since 1997.

"I am happy and honored to be named chair of Budgets and Revenue," Doyle said in the release.

The National Conference of State Legislatures is a bipartisan organization that serves legislators and legislative staff across the country by providing a forum for the open exchange of ideas. Among the various services provided are research, publications, technical assistance and networking opportunities.
