Man charged in motel robbery, assault



A Washington, D.C., man was charged with robbing Holiday Motel at 16 N. Prospect St. on Sept. 17 and assaulting a clerk there.

James Roy Burke, 23, of Washington, D.C., was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft, false imprisonment, second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property, according to Washington County District Court documents.

At least two others are charged in the incident, according to records.

The robbery involved the assault of the hotel manager, who was bound while two men stole the cash register from the front desk, documents state.

Burke was being held Monday night on $150,000 bail at the Washington County Detention Center, according to a spokesman there.




Pa. man charged with drug offenses



A Rouzerville, Pa., man was charged Friday with several drug offenses for allegedly selling crack cocaine to a police informant in the 18600 block of Donald Street in Hagerstown.

Donell Lamar Williams, 27, of 11763 Pen Mar Road Ext., was charged with distributing drugs, drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Washington County District Court documents.

Williams allegedly sold the informant $100 worth of crack cocaine, stored in two separate plastic bags, documents state.

Williams was later charged after Hagerstown Police officers stopped the vehicle in which he was a passenger along Longmeadow Road in Hagerstown, documents state.

Williams was being held Monday night on $65,000 bail at the Washington County Detention Center, according to a spokesman there.




Man faces assault, weapons charges



A Hagerstown man was charged with assault and other offenses Wednesday, stemming from a fight 10 days earlier.

Timothy Scott Everett Jr., 18, of 129 Alexander St., was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property, having an unregistered shotgun and discharging a firearm within city limits, according to Washington County District Court documents.

Hagerstown Police allege in charging documents that after a fight at 129 Alexander St., Everett left the home, carrying a shotgun and struck another man's forehead with the butt of the gun. Police said Everett also fired the gun at another man's vehicle, causing damage to the hood and windshield, documents state.

A witness found wood chips, which police said broke off of the shotgun when Everett allegedly struck the other man, documents state. Everett was also identified using photographs by at least one witness.

Everett was being held Monday night on $40,000 bail at the Washington County Detention Center, according to a spokesman there.
