Charges against woman are dismissed

Charges against a Hagerstown woman accused of prostitution and other offenses were dismissed Thursday in Washington County District Court.

Christina Marie Oldham, 33, of 228 S. Mulberry St., was charged in September with prostitution, intoxication, failure to obey a lawful order and malicious destruction of property, according to charging documents.

All of the charges were dismissed Thursday.

Police alleged Oldham was arguing with a man along the road, who had picked her up outside of a bar, documents state.

While riding around town, Oldham told the man she would have sex with him for money, according to documents. The man said he pulled into a bank parking lot on Salem Avenue and tried to trick Oldham into getting out of the vehicle, but she did not, so the man drove to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, documents state. On the way, Oldham continued to kick, broke his sunglasses and was grabbing the steering wheel, documents allege.


Probable cause found in woman's drug case

Probable cause was found Thursday in Washington County District Court to proceed with drug charges against a Hagerstown woman.

Penny Christine Riser, 36, of 3 Cypress St., Apt. 4, was charged in September with drug possession, possession with intent to distribute drugs, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of contraband with intent to deliver, according to charging documents. Probable cause was found for all charges.

Riser was accused of attempting to deliver balloons filled with marijuana and heroin Sept. 26 to a prisoner at the Maryland Correctional Training Center, documents state. She was arrested in the parking lot of the training center at 18800 Roxbury Road in Hagerstown.

An MCTC inmate later called Riser, asking what had happened to the delivery, documents state. The conversation was recorded.

Documents allege the heroin and marijuana police said Riser had was meant to be brought into MCTC and distributed among inmates.

Man's drug case will proceed in court

Probable cause was found Thursday to proceed with several drug charges against a Hagerstown man in Washington County District Court.

Benjamin Patrick Ruark, 18, of 417 Carrolton Ave., was charged in October with drug distribution, drug possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy to distribute drugs, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to charging documents.

Ruark is accused of selling $10 of marijuana to an undercover police informant on Aug. 25, documents state.
