Man faces burglary, theft charges

Probable cause was found during a hearing Tuesday to proceed with burglary charges against a Hagerstown man accused of stealing jewelry from a woman who was hospitalized at the time.

Justin Wayne Green, 19, of 929 Frederick St., was charged in September with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and three counts of theft, according to Washington County District Court documents.

The burglary at the home in the 600 block of Highland Way in Hagerstown allegedly occurred between Aug. 18 and Aug. 22.

A caseworker in the home while the resident was in the hospital said she saw Green in the apartment, documents state.

Hagerstown Police said Green pawned a black pearl ring, a gold wedding band, a gold necklace, a necklace with a diamond pendant and a diamond ring at a nearby pawn shop for $80, documents state. The value of the stolen items was about $600, documents state.
