Partygoers help MSO Guild to fundraising record

November 16, 2005

The Maryland Symphony Orchestra Guild held its annual ball and auction Saturday, Nov. 5. The formal affair was held at Fountain Head Country Club, north of Hagerstown. The theme was "under the Tuscan sun." More than 270 people paid $125 each to attend the formal affair.

Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and cibo e vino (dinner and wine), danced to the '70s-style music of The Holders and bid on items for silent and live auctions.

The event garnered more than the $60,500 raised at the 2004 event. More than half of the guild's membership worked for nine months to make the event the guild's highest-grossing fundraiser.

Committee chairs for the event were Anita Binder, Joyce Bowers, Mary Anne Burke, Judy Ditto, Patty Enders, Freddie Erath, Sherrie Giroux, Barbara Henderson, Connie Manger, Mary Newby, Susan Rocco, Sharon Ruppenthal, Maureen Sasse, Jeanne Stoner, Marty Talton, Yvonne Thomson, Candice Wagaman, Dana Wollaston and Kathy Woodward.
