FREDERICK, Md. - Catherine C. Meyers has been named branch manager of Woodsboro Bank's 40-West Office at 1420 W. Patrick St. in Frederick.

Prior to joining Woodsboro Bank, Meyers managed the branch offices of two other financial institutions and a lending company, all based in Frederick County.

Lorraine O'Neill, physical therapist and owner of O'Neill Physical Therapy Services, recently completed the seven-week course, Pathological Movement: A Biomechanical Approach.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Ken Forbes, of Waynesboro, Pa., has retired from CNA with 28 years of service.

He most recently was a risk control specialist for US Insurance Field Operations and serviced accounts throughout the mid-Atlantic states and eastern Canada.

He is a National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel commissioned inspector and is an associate risk manager.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Don Bowers has been conferred with the CFS (Certified Fund Specialist) designation by the Institute of Business and Finance.

The designation is conferred upon candidates who complete a one-year, graduate level education program and pass a comprehensive examination. CFS designees must adhere to a professional code of ethics and meet annual continuing education requirements to maintain their certification.

Bowers is the owner of Don Bowers Financial Services in Greencastle. He is an investment representative with HD Vest Investment Services, a nonbank subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company.

Diane Rowe Caprio, E.A., of the accounting, payroll and tax services company that bears her name, recently attended an education session in Wheaton, Md., offered by the Maryland-D.C. Society of Enrolled Agents. The topic was Real Estate - The Last Bastion of Tax Shelters. The session concentrated on real estate topics relevant to real-life situations.

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Three people have been appointed to the Penn State Mont Alto campus advisory board.

John Beck, of Waynesboro, who owned Green Arbor Corp., a local landscape contractor, garden center and floral shop for 29 years.

John Fairchild, of Chambersburg, Pa., who served in the U.S. Army and entered the federal civil service as a management intern with the U.S. Army Materiel Command. He retired in 2003 after a career in Army logistics.

Charles Q. (CQ) Smith, of Chambersburg, who owned and operated Charles Q. Smith Insurance Agency in Chambersburg, worked as a foreign financial analyst for Singer Corp. in New York City and was a founding partner of Superior Staffing Solutions Inc. in Murrysville, Pa.

Terry Wigfield, director of the Northwestern Maryland-area office of HouseMaster home inspections company attended the company's annual conference at the Antlers Hilton in Colorado Springs, Oct. 5-9.

New technology and the role of the Internet were featured at the conference, which brought together more than 200 HouseMaster professionals including franchisees, and executive officers and staff from the company's Bound Brook, N.J., headquarters to discuss the future of the home-inspection industry.

HouseMaster has franchises in more than 370 cities in North America. Each franchise is an independently owned and operated business.

The award in given based on the number of listings taken, sales made and attendance at Realtor functions and continuing education classes completed.

She also was recognized as September's leader in service, an award based on use of companies affiliated with Jack Gaughen ERA.

Hays, of the State Line, Pa., area, is licensed in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
