St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, the Rev. Scott Bellows will deliver the sermon at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion/litany of healing services this Sunday. The children's and youth choirs will present special music at the later service, with percussion, and accompanied by Brayden Lodter on piano.

Christian education for all ages begins at 9 a.m.

The parish nurse will be taking blood pressure readings after both services.




St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Mark Mooney will be speaking at 9:30 a.m. this Sunday on the topic, Soldiers of Christ: Arise! Mooney and E-Man will also be featured at the service.

Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults are at 10:45 a.m.




Marlowe (W.Va.) Assembly of God, District Superintendent H. Robert Rhoden will be ministering this Homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Christopher Jones, area youth pastor, will minister in the 6 p.m. service. Fellowship and refreshments will follow.

St. Catherine Eastern Orthodox Church of Hagerstown, vespers tonight begin at 6:30.

Father Dennis Buck will be serving Divine Liturgy this Sunday at 10 a.m. celebrating Saint Chrystostom. The service will be followed by church school and a potluck dinner.

The Nativity Fast begins Tuesday, Nov. 15.




Robinwood Church of God, 12030 Warrenfeltz Lane, Hagerstown, this Sunday, the service will begin at 10:45 a.m.

Unity, Shepherdstown, W.Va., this Sunday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Anne Murphy will take a New Look at the Old Book. Following worship, Tom Masbaum will present an emotional freedom techniques workshop.

Zion United Church of Christ, the Rev. Robert Royal will speak at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, The Secret Source of Joy. Barbara Hendershot will make a Stewardship Sunday presentation.

Pikeside United Methodist Church, Paynes Ford Road and U.S. 11, Martinsburg, W.Va., new members will be received at the 8:30 and 10:35 a.m. services this Sunday.

Sunday School for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. At 5:30 p.m., the family covered dish Thanksgiving dinner will be held. A concert by the Pikeside Orchestra will follow at 7 p.m.

Bible studies are Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Thursdays at 7 p.m.

A spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. by the youth.

The children's program is also at 9:30 a.m. Learning centers are at 11 a.m. are also focused on The Purpose-Filled Life.




Church of Christ in the Great Valley, Minister C.R. Strunk will be speaking this Sunday at 10 a.m. on the topic, The Devices of Satan.

Wednesday night services begin at 7.

The congregation meets at the Woodmen of the World lodge on Reichard Road in Fairplay.




St. Peter's (Beard's) Lutheran Church, Old Forge Road, the Rev. David Baker will be speaking at the 9:15 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic is Are You Doing What You Can?

Sunday school for all ages is at 10:15 a.m.




St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock, this Sunday at 7:30 and 10 a.m., there will be communion. The 2006 pledges to the Lord will be accepted.
