Teens charged after accident in Greene Township

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 17-year-old female from Biglerville, Pa., and a 17-year-old passenger in her vehicle were charged after an accident early Saturday, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

Police said the accident happened at 3 a.m. in the 1500 block of Black Gap Road in Greene Township, Pa.

Police said a maroon or red Buick traveling north on Black Gap Road sideswiped a vehicle driven by the 17-year-old female from Biglerville, then fled the scene.

The 17-year-old driver, who was not named in the press release, and her two passengers abandoned the vehicle in the southbound lane of Black Gap Road, police said.

The passengers were found walking about 11/2 miles south of the accident scene. The 17-year-old female passenger from Fayetteville, Pa., who also was not named in the press release, was taken to Chambersburg Hospital for minor injuries. She also was charged with underage drinking, police said.

The 17-year-old driver was found at her residence at 6 a.m. and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. police said.

The other passenger, Richard Barndollar, 23, of Aspers, Pa., was not injured, police said.
