Veterans Day program planned at Letterkenny

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Retired Army Chaplain Grover G. DeVault will be guest speaker at the Veterans Day program Friday at 4 p.m. at the Letterkenny Army Depot Chapel.

Founder of the International Military Chaplains Association, DeVault is an elder at Calvary Church in Lancaster, Pa. During his 20 years of active duty, DeVault served in Vietnam and Greenland, and traveled in 57 countries.

DeVault earned the Army's Legion of Merit decoration, among other awards.

With three master's degrees, DeVault has taught college courses and served as chaplain for the Pennsylvania State Police. He and his wife, Nancy, have four married daughters.

Joan Sachs will play organ for the service. Clergy and lay representatives will participate.

The event is being sponsored by the United Churches of the Chambersburg area and the Joint Veterans Council of Chambersburg.

Charles M. Nitterhouse of Post 1599, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will lead the military honors.
