Senior citizens club to meet in Hagerstown

Haven Road Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. Bronson Staley will speak on "Life as a Senior." Bring a bag lunch; dessert and coffee will be provided. Visitors are welcome.

Lioness club plans bazaar

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Greencastle-Antrim Lioness Club will hold a fundraising bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Rescue Hose Company Special Events Center, 407 S. Washington St. Vendors will sell items such as crocheted towels, snowmen, Santas, dried flower arrangements, wreaths, hand-painted and framed feathers, maple syrup and more. Lunch will be available. Admission and parking are free.

Spaghetti dinner in Maugansville

MAUGANSVILLE - The Maugansville Ruritan Club will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Maugansville Fire Hall. Dinner also includes Italian bread, tossed salad and beverage. The cost is $5, ages 13 and older; $3, ages 6 to 12; and free for ages 5 and younger. Baked goods also will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Maugansville Goodwill Fire Department.


Volunteer orientation at Humane Society

The Humane Society of Washington County will conduct an orientation for potential volunteers from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.

There are opportunities for volunteers to walk and bathe dogs, socialize cats, clean animal housing units and help with laundry and dishes, as well as to provide foster care to special needs animals.

Volunteers are asked to commit to two hours a week for six months. A qualified adult must accompany young people between the ages of 12 and 15.
