On Sunday, Oct. 23, a group of Chambersburg, Pa., area children put on their long-planned backyard production of "Kids Phantom of the Opera," complete with costume changes and singing. A back porch and balcony set the stage and the yard was set for the audience. The players in order as they apear in the picture: AimeeBeth Davis as Christine Daae, Monica Miller as Carlotta, Maggie Davis as Firman, Erin Longfellow as Madame Giry and Alex Dunn as the Phantom. The production planning started in August. The youngsters sold tickets and snacks during the play and raised $268.44. They are planning to give one half of the donations for African famine relief and half to the Red Cross to benefit the victiims of Hurricane Katrina.
