Woman held in August crash

A woman charged in August with traffic and criminal offenses was being held without bond Thursday at the Washington County Detention Center for violating parole, according to a spokeswoman there.

Patti Sue Ahalt, 46, of 15220 National Pike in Hagerstown, was charged in August with driving under the influence, driving while impaired, attempting to elude police, failure to stop at an accident scene, failure to provide a required license and failure to render reasonable assistance to an injured person, according to court documents.

Ahalt allegedly was involved in a hit-and-run crash in the 300 block of East Potomac Street in Williamsport shortly before 11 p.m. on Aug. 17, documents state. When police arrested Ahalt, her vehicle had severe damage to the front and side.

Police said Ahalt struck several vehicles and a guardrail without stopping.

A woman who was eight months pregnant was in one of the vehicles and was taken to Washington County Hospital, documents state.
