November 04, 2005|by ERIN CUNNINGHAM

Probable cause was found during a Washington County District Court preliminary hearing Thursday to proceed with charges against a Hagerstown man accused of drug offenses.

Nathaniel Eugene Henderson Jr., 22, of 58 Winter St., was charged in June with drug manufacturing and distribution, drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, drug possession and creating a common nuisance by distributing drugs, court documents state.

Henderson's court proceedings were postponed in September because drug results were unavailable.

Henderson was being held on $50,000 bail Thursday night at the Washington County Detention Center, according to a spokeswoman there.

On June 23, a police informant purchased crack cocaine from Henderson at a gas station in Hagerstown, according to documents. On Aug. 1, a police informant purchased drugs from Henderson again, this time at a shopping center in Hagerstown, documents state. Henderson also had a larger piece of crack cocaine in his possession, according to documents.
