A New York man was charged Saturday with several drug offenses in Hagerstown.
Geremy Shawn Sahota, 25, of 59 Wearing Place in Yonkers, N.Y., was charged with drug possession, drug possession with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents.
A man saw two men walking together Saturday night in the 100 block of North Locust Street in Hagerstown before turning down an alley, documents state. The man then saw one of the men reach into some weeds next to a telephone pole and put something in the weeds, documents state.
The man told police he went to the spot next to the pole and saw magazine paper crumpled into a ball, documents state. When the man unwrapped the paper, he said, it was filled with crack cocaine; he called police and told them what he had seen, documents state. The man had the crack cocaine in his home when police arrived to speak with him, documents state.
