FORT LOUDON, Pa. - One man died and another was taken to Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center as a result of a one-vehicle accident Saturday night in Metal Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Dwight D. Krug Jr., 23, of 2531 Hafer Road, Fayetteville, Pa., was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital after the 9:44 p.m. crash in the area of American Legion Post 606, 2090 Path Valley Road, police said. Krug, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier he was driving, police said.

A passenger, Jarden L. Fogelsonger, 24, address unavailable, of Spring Run, Pa., was flown by helicopter to Hershey and was in critical condition Sunday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said. Police said Fogelsonger was wearing a seat belt, but he was found outside the car and unresponsive.

Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said Krug was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital at 10:49 p.m. He died of multiple blunt force trauma, according to the results of an autopsy performed Sunday at Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa., Conner said.

Police said Krug was driving north when the Cavalier went into a left-hand curve and began to go off the east side of the road. The car went back onto the road, but skidded across both lanes and flipped onto its roof before striking a utility pole, police said.

Fire and ambulance personnel from the Metal Township Fire and Rescue Co. and an ambulance from the St. Thomas Township Volunteer Fire Co. assisted at the scene, police said. The accident was under investigation, police said.
