Automated Office Equipment buys Allegany County business

WILLIAMSPORT - Automated Office Equipment Inc., a full service office equipment company, has acquired Standard Office Equipment Inc. in LaVale, Md.

Standard Office Equipment has served businesses in Allegany County and the surrounding areas for more than 25 years.

"We are pleased to add the Standard customers, employees and markets to our existing business," Chris Bennett, sales manager and co-owner of Automated Office Equipment (AOE), said in a prepared release. "This acquisition is consistent with our goals for meeting growth objectives."

He noted that he and his brother, Mark, began their careers as employees of Richard Mastrino, former owner of Standard.

His brother worked in the service department for more than 10 years and is the service manager and co-owner of AOE, Bennett said.Bennett said Standard Office Equipment will remain at 137 National Highway. All maintenance agreements in place with Standard will be honored and AOE will provide service and supplies on equipment purchased from Standard.

Customers will have access to an expanded line of equipment, supplies and services offered through AOE, he said.

Automated Office Equipment was founded in 1990. Its headquarters are in Williamsport.

The company represents a complete line of office products and services, including the Kyocera line of copiers, printers and wide format devices.
