Commission on Aging will host senior nutrition programs meeting

The Washington County Commission on Aging will host the Maryland Association of Senior Nutrition Programs meeting Nov. 3 and 4 at the Four Points Sheraton.

More than 25 nutrition directors, program managers and coordinators from 19 Maryland counties will be represented at the invitation-only meeting. Greetings and a welcome will be given by Susan MacDonald, executive director of the Washington County Commission on Aging.

Topics and speakers to be presented are:

  • Joan Schultz, Senior/WIC Farmers Market

  • Sue Vaeth, chief of Community Services, Maryland Department of Aging

  • Nutrition Concerns of Alzheimer's/Dementia Patients presented by Dr. Alva S. Baker, M.D., CDM, vice president for Health and Wellness Services, EMA, Copper Ridge Institute, Sykesville, Md.

  • Introduction to Complementary and Alternative Therapies by Susan Duggan, faculty member of Tai Sophia Institute, Columbia, Md.
