Men's Club seeks books for fall sale

October 23, 2005

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Shepherdstown Men's Club is seeking books for its annual fall book sale, which will be held the weekend of Nov. 12 and 13 at the War Memorial building on German Street.

Books of all kinds are being sought: fiction and nonfiction, adult and children's books. However, encyclopedias, Readers Digest Condensed Books, textbooks, computer manuals and magazines will not be accepted.

All proceeds from the sale will be used to support the programs of the Shepherdstown Men's Club.

Donors should bring their donations to the War Memorial building any morning during the week before the sale, between 9 a.m. and noon, Monday, Nov. 7 through Friday, Nov. 11.

Donors who cannot wait until then may drop books off any time at the residence of sale organizer Mary Stanley, which is at 433 Duke St. There is no need to knock; the home has a large roofed front porch and books left there by the door will be safe from the weather.
