Patterson, Kiersz & Murphy

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - David F. Spang has joined the law firm of Patterson, Kiersz & Murphy at 239 E. Main St. in Waynesboro.

Spang's practice will be limited to elder law; estate planning; estate administration and probate; wills and trusts; business law, including business planning and commercial transactions; and commercial and residential real estate law.

Spang is admitted to practice in the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Spang previously was employed as counsel with Roland & Schlegel P.C. in Reading, Pa. He also was a sole practitioner in Fleetwood, Pa., where he conducted a general law practice.


Spang, who lives in Guilford Township, is a 1969 graduate of Albright College and a 1974 graduate of Dickinson School of Law.

Bank of Charles Town

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Linda Stewart has been promoted to loan operations manager of the Bank of Charles Town.

Stewart, of Jefferson County, W.Va., started at the Bank of Charles Town's Harpers Ferry branch in 1987 and transferred to the main office in Charles Town nine years later.

A graduate of Harpers Ferry (W.Va.) High School, Stewart has taken courses in banking and business from area institutions, including Shepherd University.

- Beverly Mitchell is the new loan officer at the Martinsburg West Side office of the Bank of Charles Town.

Mitchell, of Charles Town, has more than 25 years of experience in banking and is the co-author of a handbook for first-time home buyers, "Home Ownership Made Easy." She has completed seminars and classes in human resources, customer service and compliance.

- Lisa Farnsworth will run BCT Mortgage Co.'s new office at 3034 Valley Ave. in Winchester, Va.

Farnsworth, of Stephens City, Va., also will be the mortgage loan officer.

Farnsworth is a paraplanner and has more than 11 years of banking experience in mortgages and lending, among other experience.

Farnsworth graduated from Shenandoah University with a degree in business administration, with a concentration in banking and finance.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Ed Cimaglio, Realtor, GRI, with Shultz Realty in Charles Town and Inwood, W.Va., was awarded the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation by the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council in Murphys, Calif.

Senior Real Estate Specialists help senior citizens make wise decisions about selling their family homes, buying rental property, managing capital gains and estate tax implications of owning real estate, obtaining reverse mortgages, moving to senior communities and other issues.

The SRES designation was introduced in 1997 and is nationally recognized.

Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell LLP, an accounting and business CPA consultant firm with offices in Hagerstown and Martinsburg, W.Va., welcomed new team members Chris Sturgill and Elaine Day.

They joined the firm as in-charge accountants in July.

Sturgill, of Hagerstown, has a B.S. in accounting and has more than six years of experience.

Day, of Williamsport, has a B.S. in accounting and has more than eight years of experience.

- Deborah Dye joined the administrative team on Sept. 1 as an office clerk.

Dye, of Hagerstown, has 21 years of experience in the administrative field.

- Jason P. Knode of Greencastle, Pa., and Michele D. Kendle of Waynesboro, Pa., were promoted to supervisor.

- Tim W. Keller of Hagerstown and Brad K. Sponaugle of Martinsburg, W.Va., were promoted to in-charge accountants.

Century 21 MG Realty

Diana Shepherd and Angie Roberts of Century 21 MG Realty in Hagerstown attended the Century 21 Real Estate LLC Top Agent Retreat.

The conference provided top sales associates with the chance to expand their real estate knowledge with educational sessions and to network with peers from Century 21 offices from around the nation.

System associates with 2004 sales production in excess of $95,000 in adjusted gross commissions or 30 closed units were eligible to attend the event from Sept. 16 to 18 at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.

Penn State Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Mary Fox was recognized for 25 years of service to Penn State Mont Alto.

Fox joined the staff at Penn State Mont Alto on Sept. 4, 1980. She works as a cook and food preparer for the Housing and Food Services Department.

Fox, of Waynesboro, Pa., graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School in 1980 and from the Franklin County Career and Technology Center the same year with a certificate in culinary arts. She worked for Penn State Mont Alto part time during her senior year as part of a cooperative education project.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA has recognized two of its sales professionals, Paul Gunder and Julianne Lesniak, for excellent performance in September.

Gunder, a licensed sales professional since 1979, is assisted by his wife, Diana Keilholtz-Gunder, and his son, Matt Gunder. They are licensed to list and sell in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Lesniak has consistently used the latest technology to produce home sales.
