Realtors' fund-raisers aid area organizations

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - The Pen-Mar Regional Association of Realtors presented donations to several area organizations at the association's October luncheon meeting at the Penn National Golf Club.

A $2,000 check from the Maryland Association of Realtors went to the Hagerstown Home Store. The money will aid the Home Store's "Smart Move" program, which provides funds for home rehabilitation in target areas of downtown Hagerstown.

Washington County Habitat for Humanity received $4,500 raised at the PMRAR golf tournament plus $2,500 from the Maryland Association of Realtors and $5,000 from First Horizon Home Loans. Franklin County, Pa.

Habitat for Humanity also was given $4,500 from golf tournment proceeds.

A total of $50,500 has been raised for Habitat for Humanity from 11 PMRAR golf tournaments.

The Realtors' association also donated $1,800 each to Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Washington and Franklin counties. Money for those donations was raised at the recent PMRAR Trade Show.
