Barber, 39, of 408 Sherman Ave. in Frederick, Md., was charged with distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
With new information, task force agents set up surveillance at 746 Spruce St. in Hagerstown and watched a Cadillac pull up in front of the residence, the release states. Deck left "her residence and got into the Cadillac," which allegedly was driven by Barnes.
Agents quickly moved in, but Barnes allegedly sped off, the release states. As agents followed them, Barnes allegedly "accelerated the car directly toward one of the agent's vehicles. The agent had to quickly swerve" to avoid being hit, agents said.
The Cadillac eventually was stopped on Bowman Avenue, according to the release.
Agents allegedly found a plastic bag filled with crack cocaine in the Cadillac. They later found a second bag, which Deck allegedly had thrown out the window during the pursuit, according to the release.
Barnes allegedly had $1,480 on him and Deck allegedly had $1,190 on her at the time of their arrests, agents said.
The street value of the drugs recovered is about $4,000, according to the release.
Barnes, 29, of 792 Frederick St. in Hagerstown, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession/large amount of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempted assault of a police officer, according to the release.
Deck, 27, of 2007 Starlight Lane in Hagerstown, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and possession of paraphernalia, the release states.
Barber was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $30,000 bond Friday afternoon, a jail spokesman said. There was no listing at the jail for Barnes or Deck, he said.
