A new twist on an old pal

October 18, 2005|by BRAD SMITH

Wario Ware games for the GameBoy Advanceare best described as a ton of microgames.

"Wario Ware Twisted!" puts a twist in the series with the use of a motion sensor built into the game. Instead of using the D-pad on the game system, you move the GBA unit left or right and sometimes spin your body around to control action on the screen.

This game puts you through 200 tiny minigames or puzzles - some as short as just a few seconds. To beat the game, you have to go through all the microgames in each character's cycle.

The graphics are simple and look a lot like cartoons. There isn't really a story line but this game is very addictive. I beat the game in roughly four hours.

This is a game that you can pick up, play a few games and put back down. If you get easily frustrated, this game is not for you. If you like short, fun games with no point, it's a definite buy.

Note: This is not a good game for car rides. Because the game is motion sensitive, one sharp turn of the steering wheel and your player is dead.

I did like the feature changing the title screen by turning the game system. I really enjoyed playing this video game. I give it nine twists out of 10.
