Waynesboro church names new pastor

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - On Sunday, Oct. 2, the congregation of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, voted to call Pastor Sue D'heedene to become its next full-time pastor. She accepted the call and expects to begin her ministry at Trinity at the beginning of the Advent season in early December.

D'heedene is the associate pastor at the Shiloh United Church of Christ in Danville, Pa. At Shiloh, she is engaged in all aspects of congregational life, emphasizing Christian formation and leadership development with young and middle-aged adults and youth.

She is also involved with the Leadership Now program at Lancaster Theological Seminary and with the Alliance for the Renewal in Ministry continuing education program there.

Before serving Shiloh, D'heedene served as full-time resident chaplain at Geisinger Medical Center and completed the two-year Geisinger School of Pastoral Education program there.

Prior to completing her master in divinity at Lancaster Theological Seminary in 2000, D'heedene worked as a registered nurse and health care administrator for 20 years.

She is married and has five children ranging in age from 13 to 25. Her husband, Bob D'heedene, is a retired mathematics professor.
