Hagerstown Trust board names Jack B. Castle president, CEO

The board of directors of Hagerstown Trust, an affiliate of Fulton Financial Corp., has named Jack B. Castle, president and chief executive officer, effective Sept. 3.

Castle will oversee the $260 million bank, which has 11 banking offices in Washington and Frederick counties.

Castle's career in the financial services industry spans more than 30 years and includes experience in commercial bank management and lending, financial planning and investment management, retail branch system management, marketing and volunteer community leadership.

After receiving his bachelor of business administration in financial management from the University of Iowa, Castle held positions of increasing responsibility at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Co. of Chicago, First National Bank of Maryland and Legg Mason, where he became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Castle has been active in community organizations in Washington and Frederick counties. He serves on the board of directors of the United Way of Washington County and the Washington County Health System Endowment Board. He is a former chairman of the Community Foundation of Frederick County, former chairman of the board of the Chamber of Commerce of Frederick County, and chairman of the Frederick County Private Industry Council. Castle also has been active with the Maryland Governor's Workforce Development Board, the United Way of Frederick County, the Banner School, and the FSK District of the Boy Scouts of America. He serves as secretary and a board member for the Rotary Club of Frederick.
