Collectors Corner

William McGinley Jr., of Falling Waters, W.Va., has retired from the Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown, after 29 years of service.

McGinley is now employed at Collectors Corner, St. James. He is working with firearms, knives, accouterments and collectibles from the late 1700s through the present.

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Margie E. Schaeffer, director of Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School, attended the American Massage Therapy Association's annual Council of Schools meeting in Secacus, N.J., Aug. 11-14.

She attended classes instructed by leading authors of massage pharmacology and body mechanics. She also attended the National Teacher of the Year ceremony. That award went to Ruth Werner, author of "Massage and Medical Pathology," used by the Synergy Massage School.

The Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center of Maryland

FREDERICK, Md. - Dr. Nathan Wei served as the expert moderator at the Summit on Psoriatic Arthritis, held in Orlando, Fla., from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1.

Wei is a board-certified rheumatologist and clinical director of The Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center of Maryland, an arthritis research center in Frederick.

Correctional Officer Capt. B. Ken Sharpe has been selected Supervisor of the Quarter at the Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown.

Since Sharpe's return from military leave, he has become involved with numerous management issues such as the development of an Employee Sick Leave Monitoring Program and chairing and developing directives for the Family Day Program.

Sharpe, who is on the 8-4 shift, was chosen to be spokesman for the Division of Correction Recruitment Program and to assist headquarters with comparison reports.
